Please give us a short summary of your website?
Pie-Supply.com contains all kinds of pie recipes, with many healthy alternatives and pie supplies
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I discovered that being diagnosed as lactose intolerant, I could easily alter pies recipes to exclude dairy and still taste good. I also found that this could work for most any nutrionals need! I dedicated a large portion of the site to finding nutritional alternatives for all needs.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched this site one month ago, this week! It has been a great learning process!
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was purposeful and it rhymned!
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The website is not just about recipes, but finding the recipe that fits yourlife style. There are recipes for party-throwers, holidays, nutritional needs, and for "newbies" who are just getting started.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
This is just a lovely hobby. I truly enjoy helping people find enjoyable dessert alternatives, when it feels like there are none.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far, only being a month in, the visitors that do come regularly are a great treat. Being so new, the fact that I have "regulars" is exciting.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Eventually, I would love to have a forum where people can share their own recipe alternatives and get help with their own nutritional challenges.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Certainly! I work on the site often and it is very much a labor of love- so, I would love to adjust my thinking to any size the site may become.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Patience, that is the most difficult personal headache. Build traffic, pages and relationships with visitors takes time.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Having too many ideas, and not enough time to complete all of them. I have pages and pages of new additions I want to make to the site.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Directories that specialize in what I offer. In large, giant directories my little site gets lost.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Yes, because I always imagined that it was something that was too technical for me. Learning has been interesting, and when you are interested in the subject you are writing about- the research and time come naturally.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Almost one full month. It feels so much longer than that- but in a positive way. I have learned so much, so fast. I would love to continue this for as long as I can.
