Starla's Vintage Recipes

Your name?

starla stimmer

Your Location (city, etc)

Chillicothe ohio

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Old fashion cooking recipes from your mother's kitchen. Handwritten recipes gathered from little old tin recipe boxes. Recipes include recipes from throughout the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. Plus - Robin Wallace - A StoryTeller most extraordinaire.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I am a collector of recipes, vintage photos and all things vintage. It occured to me one day, that I could share these with others and make a few new friends.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I started the website for my step son to sell candy, but he really wasn't interested, so I changed it. Now it holds my recipes and black and white photos.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

This was simple, my name and what it is about. Starla's Vintage Recipes

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

This site is different because stories of my childhood are woven around the recipes when ever possible. Also, Robin Wallace contributes her family stories and recipes whenever possible. Anyone can add a family story or recipe.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

This site is my hobby, there is no eventual goal at this time.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

A hobby is for pleasure, nothing more.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I don't think I would. It is purely for pleasure and reminiscing about my long lost youth.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, but this is so not going to happen with recipes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

N/A

What has been your biggest challenge?

N/A

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

All I am doing is trading links with other sites I like.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I didn't have expectations with this hobby. It is purely for pleasure

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

About 2 years, and I have planned for eternity!

What is your website address?
