Please describe your blog

My blog is a collection of recipes that I've either invented, used, or has been passed down from my family. It features comfort food and affordable, easy recipes also.

Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?

I have a total of six blogs. The recipe blog is just one part of my blogging. I did that purely to give myself something to do during my illness. My other blogs consist of two personal journals, a fan fiction blog, based on a popular British television programme, and a blog that I use solely to store some creative writing that I'm working on--as a back up in case my computer fails.

My main purpose of blogging is self-expression. It also allows me to--because I live a very isolated existence these days--to connect with the outside world, especially in the sense that it allows me to share my day, my life, with others--and give them a chance to share their thoughts and experiences with me, as well.

I also have a temporary blog at the moment, which I'm using solely to raise funds for a hospice in Scotland. I've found blogs also to be an excellent way to get the word out about one's favorite causes.

What blogging platform do you do and why?

I'm not a computer geek--what the heck is a "platform?" You need to ask these queries in ENGLISH, please try to remember--not all of us who use computers are familiar with your techno-speak.

What do you blog the most about?

In my two main blogs, I talk about whatever's on my mind--my day, political opinion, humor, my favorite TV show/music/book, my pets, essays on nature, personal problems...sort of a free-for-all.

What kind of blogs make you angry?

Not too many--mostly hate blogs--just blogs where the person spouts bigotry, empty hate rhetoric, stuff like that, and ultra-religious blogs--where the person insists that you HAVE to convert to Jesus and is all preaching and no real substance--not fond, either, of blatant self-promotion blogs--where the person does nothing but talk about how wonderful he or she is. And, most of all, I really loathe and detest those stupid teenage blogs where they talk in text-speak, and are either too lazy or too stupid to write in proper words like a normal, intelligen human being.

Give five of your best blogging tips.

1. Vary what you talk about--don't just write about the same thing all the time. 2. Use a photo once in a while, to illustrate what you're writing about 3. Paragraphs--long or short, one long unbroken paragraph is a chore to read. Make paragraphs when you write! 4. Insert some humor once in a while...a joke, a funny photo, a funny story--people like that. 5. Write from the heart, be genuine--be sincere. And especially, NEVER steal someone else's blog comments--UNLESS you give that person credit for it.

What are some things you would NEVER blog about?

Some things that I just consider far too private to talk about in public.

Celebrity gossip--boring.

Pro-republican news.

Most sports.

Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?

NO.

How long have you been blogging?

A bit over a year

About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?

1 to 4

Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?

Seldom do.

Do you use Digg, and why or why not?

Never heard of it.

Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not?

Never heard of it--again not a techno-geek.

What promotional techniques work best for you and why?

Seldom promote my blogs. But tags help, and posting my blog on search engines.

If you could post a blog on any blog in the world, which one would it be and why?

No clue. I don't pay attention to that stuff.

What are your top five blogging site picks and why?

Don't pay attention to that stuff.

Have you met anyone offline as a result of your blog?

No, only because I'm too poor to travel to them
