Favorite Recipes Interview

By Interviewer at 06/20/10 16:59

Name of your website?

Favorite Recipes

Your name?

sally

Your Location (city, etc)

jamestown

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This is a library of over 100 of my favorite recipes, and growing almost daily. Which covers everything from beef to pork, chicken, breads, cakes, pies, cobblers.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

ive tried several times with no luck, always just for the sense of accomplishment, plus being able to stay at home and raise my kids.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

its been so long ago and so many tries, i cant remember

How did you decide on a name for your website?

it just popped into my mind and I ran with it

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It fits my taste more than the others.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it and make a little monthly income from the small ads that are on it

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

ive only spent 4 days making it, and have invested no money, currently i get between 50 and a 100 visits a day which is good, i would like to grow it to 1000 hits a day and i would be completely satisfied.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would advertise it to the max, tv, radio ,bilboards, the works

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

sure, my product is information already displayed on the site . free to the end user.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Absolutely none, my past failures have taught me that the internet is a tuff place if you dont have quality content in a website.

What has been your biggest challenge?

getting enough knoledge to actually build a successful site

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

just telling people that its there

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

for me it is a hobby that I enjoy to do

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

so far its been less than a week, but this site will still be here years from now

what have you accomplished so far with your site?

ive started it 4 days ago, have gotten it listed in all the big search engines, and currently enjoying 50 to 100 unique hits a day, this site is going to do pretty well, everything is moving much faster than expected.

What is your website address?
