How to Create Delicious Tender Fall off the Bone Ribs Interview

Name of your website?

How to Create Delicious Tender Fall off the Bone Ribs

Your name?

Jon A Truskauskas

Your Location (city, etc)

Harwinton

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Ribmaster.net offers a free dry rub recipe and a step by step guide to creating delicious, tender fall off the bone ribs. Our step by step guide will have your ribs "falling off the bone" the first time and every time.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The amount of compliments and recipe requests I got for my ribs.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Dec, 2007. This Site, since then, I've started other sites including: www.completehorsesource.com - Resources for amatuer horse trainers www.outbackcampgear.com - Name brand camping gear at discount prices www.camplakegeorge.com - information on the Lake George region www.campniagarafalls.com information on the Niagara Falls region

How did you decide on a name for your website?

My son is involved in boy scouts. I made the ribs at summer camp last year and a few of the dads nicknamed me "ribmaster". The name was born

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

This site is a complete guide. Many sites offer this tip and that tip, my site is step by step including the rub recipe, preparing the rib, cooking the rib, and even storing the leftovers.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I plan to keep this site up and running, I enjoy the emails back and forth with my customers. I also plan on spending time on my other sites to promote them as well.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I would say, considering the small amount of knowledge of the internet I started with, I've been quite successful. It took quite a while to put together the site, however I enjoyed learning and experimenting. I went into it with very low expectations and have been extremely impressed with both the amount of sales and the response from my customers.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

More promotion and advertising, I've spent very little money promoting my site, however I do realize more traffic generally equals more sales.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I've owned and operated a small business for the last ten years and have been able to adapt to changing market conditions in that environment quite well. I beleive on the web, I would be able to keep up even if it meant hiring a few select people to answer emails and place orders for tangible goods. I would hope to be able to answer specific questions myself as I pride myself on customer service after the sale.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I finally got the site up and running and with the click of my mouse I accidentally deleted the whole home page. I quickly learned the value of backing up. It took the whole afternoon to get it back up.

What has been your biggest challenge?

I've got to say, I've had no real challenge in this venture. I did some research before I got started and that really payed off.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Until now, I've only used google adwords

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is much easier than I anticipated. I also enjoy the emails with my customers.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

This sight has only been up for a short time and I've already had a number of sales. I plan to keep it up forever. I've seen the possibilities and only see it getting better.

What is your website address?
